Sr. Mary Meyers, a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden and a registered nurse, has been appointed to the newly created position of remediation coordinator and success coach in the School of Nursing.
After a 20-year career in teaching students from kindergarten to high school, she entered the Second Degree BSN program at Duquesne University. After graduating, Sr. Mary worked at Mercy Hospital's CVICU where she provided care to critically ill medical and surgical cardiac patients. While at Mercy Hospital, she earned CCRN certification and subsequently worked in hospice nursing.
While working with her clinical group at Mercy Hospital, she began helping senior nursing students as they prepared for the HESI exam. Eager to assist any student who needed extra help, Sr. Meyers began working with a growing number of students, and her successful efforts as well as her love for the role make her a natural choice for the position.
