Investment Strategy Institute
The Palumbo-Donahue School of Business renovation of Rockwell Hall's sixth floor will be complete in August 2019. Our Investment Center will move into its new, greatly expanded facility and be reborn as the Investment Strategy Institute. In doing so, we will be upgrading an already impressive set of financial technology and data access, doubling, for example, the number of Bloomberg terminals.
The Institute will be the new home of our student-managed investment funds, providing a state-of-the art facility where students can manage real money using the latest financial software. The Institute will offer a wide range of analytical software that allows real-time access to stocks, bonds, futures, currencies and options markets around the world.
This includes Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS), the most powerful software platform anywhere for collecting financial data and conducting financial research.
Students are first introduced to the Investment Strategy Institute in their freshman year and are encouraged to use the resources of the Institute through a variety of courses. Among the resources in the Institute are Bloomberg®, Reuters®, Morningstar®, Ibbotson®, Compustat®, CSI® and KLD® databases. Students may also, via independent study, earn Bloomberg Equity and Fixed Income Certification.
