Demand for sales professionals is growing dramatically and sale roles provide a route into high-level positions. Professional sales is a common career entry point for marketing majors, and more than 50% of college graduates across majors will begin their careers in a sales-related position.
There is demand for sales professionals and it is increasingly challenging for companies to find qualified candidates. Our program in professional sales provides a critical connection to theory and practice. With a minor in sales, you will gain a competitive edge by combining classroom learning with real-world application. You will learn sales theories and models, apply theory through recorded sales role plays, sales competitions, case studies, and sales projects.
You will also have many sales based internship opportunities, both locally and nationally. Our location, often referred to as, "On the Bluff" because it overlook's Pittsburgh's Downtown business district, provides opportunities not only for internships but also engagement with successful sales practitioners.
Our national professional sales and marketing fraternity, Pi Sigma Epsilon is another great opportunity for you to engage with a community of like-minded students, many of whom also are members of the Duquesne University Sales Team (DUST) that compete in local and national sales competitions.
