SCHOOL OF EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Graduate Scholarship Opportunities

DR. N V DIPAOLO MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP provides support to graduate students with merit and need studying Administration & Supervision who supplement their core education with studies in negotiation, collective bargaining and labor-management relations. RICHARD DUNCAN MEMORIAL RESOURCE provides support for educational expenses to students in the Counselor Education Program. If interested, contact Beverly Sughrue at counselinged@duq.edu.

MUSCARI STUDENT RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT FUND provides financial support to students attending regional, national or international conferences to disseminate their research. Interested parties should complete a "Doctoral Student Request for Research Travel Funds" form, located in DORI.

CHARITY RANDALL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP provides scholarship support for a student in the School of Education who has demonstrated need. If interested, contact your advisor.

Undergraduate Scholarship Opportunities

WILLIAM F. FAITH ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP is available to a sophomore who demonstrates general excellence in the School of Education and potential for excellence in teaching as evidenced by on-campus and/or off-campus involvement in professional development. Applicant must submit a narrative statement indicating professional interests, university activities and community work and/or involvement to the Dean's Office by October 1.

LAWRENCE A. ROCHE MEMORIAL FUND is a need based scholarship available to a junior who demonstrates general excellence in the School of Education and possesses a QPA of 3.0 or higher.  Applicant must submit a narrative statement indicating professional interests, university activities and community work and/or involvement to the Dean's Office by October 1.

ROBERT BUZCEK MEMORIAL ENDOWED FUND assists students with the purchase of text books, travel and other such education expenses, with a preference for students of Eastern European descent. If interested, contact your advisor.

RALPH & EDNA KIDDER RESOURCE FUND provides financial assistance to an undergraduate student to defray educational expenses such as textbooks. This award is need-based. If interested, contact your advisor.

TOMORROW'S URBAN TEACHERS RESOURCE FUND provides financial assistance to an at-risk undergraduate student who demonstrates general excellence and possesses a QPA of 3.0 or higher. The student should have an interest in becoming a teacher in an urban school setting. Funds are to defray educational expenses such as textbooks, lab fees, supplies, etc. If interested, contact your advisor.

T. HELMINTOLLER TERM RESOURCE FUND supports educational expenses such as textbooks of a female student in good academic standing with a preference for students of Italian descent. If interested, contact your advisor.

EINLOTH TERM STUDENT RESOURCE TRAVEL FUND benefits students in the School of Education who participate in Maymester or other study abroad programs. This financial support can be awarded based on merit, need or both to defray ancillary education expenses such as travel, airfare, classroom supplies, etc. If interested, contact your advisor.

SCHULER TERM STUDENT RESOURCE FUND benefits students in the School of Education who participate in the Junior Achievement Education Program. It is awarded on the basis of merit, financial need, or both. If interested, contact your advisor.

VECCHIO TERM SCHOLARSHIP provides scholarship support to an undergraduate student in the School of Education with a preference to a graduate of Penn-Trafford School District. It is to be awarded based on merit and need and is renewable. If interested, contact your advisor.

JANKOWSKI FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP provides scholarship to a Sophomore in the School of Education at Duquesne University who has demonstrated financial need and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
