School of Law Mission Statement
Duquesne University School of Law is a Catholic law school that trains students to become excellent lawyers with a high degree of professional skill and a special sensitivity to ethical and moral concerns. As the only Spiritan law school in the world, we serve God by serving students, imparting to them academic, analytical, and practical skills essential to applying legal principles to actual problem-solving for the good of individual clients, for the betterment of society, and in furtherance of justice.
Student Learning Outcomes
Duquesne University School of Law establishes the following learning outcomes:
(1) Knowledge and understanding of substantive and procedural law;
(2) Legal analysis and reasoning, legal research, problem-solving, and written and oral communication in the legal context;
(3) Exercise of proper professional and ethical responsibilities to clients and the legal system; and
(4) Other professional skills needed for competent and ethical participation as a member of the legal profession
