Student Certification to Practice
Pennsylvania Bar Admission Rule 321 and similar rules in other states authorize appearances in court under certain circumstances by students who have completed at least three semesters of law school and are in good standing. The Law School Registrar will also certify students are of good character, competent legal ability and adequately trained to perform as a certified legal intern.
Students seeking certification in Pennsylvania should obtain the proper "Application for Certification for Formal Participation in Legal Matters by Law Students Under Pa.B.A.R. 321 and 322" and application instructions from the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners web site. The form is accessible under Non-Bar Exam Admission > Application for Certified Legal Intern (Rule 321).
Please submit the completed application with your original signature to the Law School Registrar's Office for certification. Copies will not be accepted.
