Bernadette Rainey is a lecturer at Cardiff Law School. She teaches human rights law and criminal law, and is the Director of the Cardiff Law School Centre for Human Rights and Public law. Her research interests include human rights and equality law, refugee law and public law. She has published on several areas of human rights law including the right to education, equality duties, and sexual offenders. Bernadette graduated in law from Queen's University, Belfast in 1993. Following this, she was awarded a PhD in refugee law at Queen's University, Belfast in 2003. Whilst completing her PhD, she was employed as a researcher on several human rights projects based in the School of Law at Queen's. Subsequently, Bernadette took up the post of Research Fellow at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. In 2003, she was employed by the School of Law at Swansea University as a researcher. From 2005-2006, Bernadette was a lecturer at Queen's University, Belfast, before taking up the post of lecturer at Cardiff law School in September 2006.

Brian Hutchinson is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law (University College Dublin) where he has been a member of staff since 1991. A specialist in the fields of Commercial Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution, he has researched and written on Arbitration and ADR, Online Dispute Resolution, Company Law, Commercial Law, Contract Law and Agency, and Information Technology. He is Editor of the Commercial Law Practitioner Law Journal (ISSN 0791-895X), former Editor of Irish Business Law Journal (ISSN 1393-6220), and he is a member of the Editorial Board of the Irish Jurist. Dr. Gavin Barrett is a barrister and senior lecturer in European law in the School of Law in University College Dublin, where he is also the Director of Doctoral Studies. Dr. Barrett specialises in European law, with a particular interest in the employment law and constitutional law fields. He also has a strong interest in employment law. He is the editor of several books (including National Parliaments and the European Union: The Constitutional Challenge for the Oireachtas and Other Member State Legislatures (Clarus Press, 2008)), the author of numerous book chapters and of articles in a wide range of journals including the Common Market Law Review, the European Law Review (including one article cited by the German Federal Supreme Court in its 2009 Lisbon ruling), the Yearbook of European Law, the European Law Journal, the European Constitutional Law Review, the Industrial Law Journal, the Dublin University Law Journal and the Irish Law Times and the Commercial Law Practitioner.

Assistant Director of the Ireland Program, Assistant Professor of Clinical Legal Skills & Director of Academic Excellence

Maryann Herman is the director of academic excellence and an assistant professor of clinical legal skills at Duquesne Law. In addition to holding academic excellence workshops and providing individual academic counseling, she teaches the Advanced Legal Reasoning course.

Prior to joining Duquesne Law, Herman served as the director of academic success and bar preparation studies at the Appalachian School of Law, where she also taught Business Associations. She formerly worked at BarBri Bar Review and The Chicago Legal Clinic.  Herman received her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University in Detroit, where she was the editor-in-chief of the Wayne Law Review.

Kirk W. Junker is a Professor of Law at the University of Cologne, Germany, where he holds the Chair in US American Law. At Cologne, he is also Director of the International Master of Environmental Science Program. He acts as Coordinator of International Programs for Duquesne University School of Law. Prior to joining Cologne, he was Associate Professor of Law and Director of International Programs at Duquesne University School of Law. His previous academic career includes teaching both at the Open University and the Queen's University of Belfast in the United Kingdom and Dublin City University in the Republic of Ireland. He was an Assistant Counsel to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources, and clerked for the Honorable James E. Rowley of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. He received a B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University, a J.D. from Duquesne University, a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, and held a postdoctoral fellowship with the Justice Ministry of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. He teaches International Environmental Law, Comparative Environmental Law, German Environmental Law, Federal Evidence, US Constitutional Law, Federal Civil Procedure, and Torts.
