Westmoreland Bar Foundation Scholarships
The Westmoreland Bar Foundation is pleased to offer three law school scholarships, which are available to Westmoreland County residents for the 2020-21 school year. Students can be first, second or third year students and must be enrolled for the Fall semester. The total amount of the scholarships to be awarded is in the amount of $6,600.

2020 ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship
The American Bar Association (ABA) awards an annual Legal Opportunity Scholarship to first-year law students. The mission of the program is to encourage racial and ethnic minority students to apply to law school and to provide financial assistance to attend and completing law school. The ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship grants 20 incoming diverse law students with $15,000 of financial aid over the course of their three years in law school. Since its inception, 350 students from across the country have received the ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship. Application period will open Mid-February for students entering law school in the fall 2020 session.

Jewish Scholarship Service of Greater Pittsburgh
Jewish Scholarship Service provides financial support to as many eligible students in our community as possible. Demonstrated financial need is a primary criterion in evaluating applicants. Financial information is considered along with other pertinent facts such as family size and the number of children/siblings in college. While we generally do not assist students with family incomes in excess of 5x the federal poverty level or who have investable assets of more than $250,000, exceptions may be made when there are extenuating family circumstances, at the discretion of the JSS committee.

Sallie Mae's Bridging the Dream Scholarship
Beginning January 3, 2020, Sallie Mae® is accepting applications for a $20,000 Bridging the Dream Scholarship for Graduate Students. This includes college seniors, prospective graduate students and current graduate students who plan to enroll in at least half-time postgraduate study for the entire 2020-2021 academic year.

Christopher Simon Attorney at Law Scholarship

Designed to help aid an incoming 1L or currently enrolled law student with their financial cost.

Howard Fox Memorial Law Scholarship Fund
Berks County Community Foundation shall make distributions from the Fund to support a scholarship which will be presented annually at Law Day ceremonies held by the Berks County Bar Association for a deserving graduate of a Berks County, Pennsylvania, high school and who will be entering an accredited law school to pursue a law degree, or who are already attending an accredited law school to pursue a law degree, and who demonstrate financial need, without discrimination to color, race, national origin or religion. Preference will be given to students entering their second year of law school; however, all applicants meeting the criteria are encouraged to apply.

ABC Law Centers Cerebral Palsy Scholarship
Designed to simultaneously increase awareness about cerabral palsy (CP) and celebrate the achievements of those with cerebral palsy. A scholarship for financial assistance in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to a high school, undergraduate, or graduate student who has cerebral palsy.

BARBRI Law Preview "One Lawyer Can Change the World" Scholarship
BARBRI Law Preview and the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity recognize that getting a legal education can be an expensive journey. For this reason, we have partnered to offer one hard-working law student a $10,000 scholarship to help pay for the first year of law school. Your chance at the scholarship starts by completing this simple online application.

Plaxen & Adler Scholarship
The Plaxen and Adler Scholarship Awards $2500 annually to a law student who has demonstrated an interest in civil trial advocacy and a career as a civil trial lawyer, as well as the concept of a fair Civil Justice system, a just result for the injured, a desire to represent the injured and those whose rights are jeopardized. The scholarship is available to all students enrolled in law school as well as senior college students already accepted in an accredited law school, including those who are outstanding and promising scholars, have an interest in civil trial advocacy and possess a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

ChapmanAlbin Scholarship for Law Students
A check for $1,000 will be made to the scholarship recipients's law school of choice to cover tuition and other related expenses. Applicants may not be current or past employees of ChapmanAlbin or be directly related to a current employee.

Burrell Township Scholarship
The purpose of the Burrell Township Scholarship Fund is to help needy and deserving students who are residents of Burrell Township, Armstrong County, PA, and who display exceptional ability and aptitude to acquire a college, technical or professional education. The fund was established by Anna Cloyde Brooks in memory of her mother, Christina King Woodward, father, Oliver Woodward, and brother, Harry Woodward.

Armstrong County Bar Association Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarship for an Armstrong County resident who is enrolled to attend or already attending an accredited law school in the United States as approved by the Foundation's Board of Directors.

Zane McMillen Memorial Scholarship
The Zane McMillen Memorial Scholarship was established in 2015 in order to memorialize Zane’s life. This scholarship is for adult students who are previous graduates of Armstrong School District, who are accepted to or enrolled in post-secondary education (an accredited college, university, or other post-secondary institution), and who are pursuing a career in any field involved with public service. The scholarship shall be awarded annually (amount will vary), and is non-renewable.

The Gainsberg Law Annual Scholarship Award
We want to help those young lawyers pursue their dreams and protect the justice system. That is why we are proud to announce the Gainsberg Law Annual Scholarship Award. Every year, we will select a student who is, or will be, enrolled in an accredited university or college in the Fall semester of the upcoming academic year. The winner will be announced in June 2020. Upon the student’s request, the non-transferrable award can be paid directly to the school.

DC Law Scholarship (formally Christensen Law)
The Christensen Law Firm Scholarship is a recurring scholarship worth $2000 designed to help one incoming 1L or continuing law student with their tuition costs. We welcome all eligible students to apply and look forward to reviewing your application.

Wagner & Wagner Civil Justice Scholarship
Since 1945, Wagner & Wagner Attorneys at Law has helped to protect the rights of the injured. We take this role very seriously, because communities are always stronger when they work together. We believe that the legal community deserves our best and our brightest, to keep the civil justice system strong. For this reason, we are proud to offer the Wagner & Wagner Annual Scholarship Award. Robert Masur Fellowship in Civil Liberties
The fellowship is open to first-year law students who intend to carry out significant activities during the summer (in between their first and second year) in the areas of civil rights and/or civil liberties. Fellows each receive a $2,000 honorarium. Proposed activities may include a writing or research project, work with a public interest organization in the areas of civil rights or civil liberties, work on a civil rights or civil liberties law case under the supervision of a faculty member or lawyer, or any other work in the areas of civil rights or civil liberties.

Taylor & Ring Victim Advocate Scholarship
This annual award will be given to a student interested in pursuing the study of law with a specific goal of helping survivors of sexual assault, rape, child abuse, or sexual harassment in the workplace. The successful candidate needs to be currently enrolled in, or will be enrolled in, an accredited college or university or law school for the upcoming academic year.

Patti Rose Scheimer Bednarik Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Patti Rose Scheimer Bednarik Memorial Scholarship Fund was created by Patti's husband Joseph Bednarik, Esq. to support the annual award of a scholarship to a law school student who pursues an interest in animal welfare as part of his/her daily activities and legal training or grant to a young lawyer who pursues an interest in animal welfare as part of his/her daily activities or law practice. It is a wonderful way to celebrate Patti's life and life's work of protecting animals, reforming the state's animal laws and mentoring those who chose to use their law degrees to ensure better treatment for animals.

The PBA Environmental & Energy Law Section Minority Scholarship Fund
The Fund solicits applications from law students enrolled in any Pennsylvania accredited law school. The applicants' academics, volunteer experience and interests and a commitment to working as an Environmental & Energy Law attorney lawyer in Pennsylvania are carefully weighed and considered by the Foundation's Scholarship Committee.

The Cunningham & Mears Academic Scholarship
The Cunningham & Mears Academic Scholarship is an annual award of $2500, presented by the firm, to a student who wishes to pursue the study of History or Law. The successful candidate must be enrolled in, or have proof of upcoming enrollment in, an accredited college, university, or law school for the upcoming academic school year.

Plattner Verderame, P.C.'s Annual Civil Justice Scholarship
This annual award will be given to a student interested in any aspect of social or civil justice, who is currently enrolled in, or will be enrolled in, an accredited college or university for the upcoming academic year.
