Duquesne Law Hosts 17th Annual Katie Westbrook 5K Race and Dog Walk
What: Law students and other members of the Duquesne University community participate in a 5K race and dog walk throughout the Duquesne campus. The Student Bar Association (SBA) hosts the event, now in its 17th year, in memory of Katie Westbrook, who wanted to become a lawyer before passing away from a rare bone cancer at age 15. Proceeds from the event support Public Interest Law Association Fellowships, which supports law students working with organizations that provide direct legal services to low-income and underserved clients.
