Duquesne Law’s Paralegal Institute offers online course for certificate students and others
Duquesne Law's Paralegal Institute this fall will begin offering an online course open to those interested in pursuing a Certificate in Parlegal Studies part-time or simply taking the single paralegal course.
The class, CORPORATE FORMATION AND FINANCE, provides an overview of the corporate legal environment and related agreements and documents. The online course studies corporate structures of financing and discusses loan agreements, guarantees, notes, mortgages, financing statements, leases, subleases, trusts, escrow agreements, indentures and loan transactions. Students learn how to prepare and draft specific documents. Grading is based on projects, presentations and class discussions. There will be no examinations. The pre-requisite is the Paralegal Institute's course CORPORATE AND BUSINESS LAW 1 or work experience in corporate law or business office.
The class is offered during the Paralegal Institute's 11-week fall 2018 term, which begins on September 10, 2018. Most work will be completed at time of the participant's choosing, with three face-to-face classes required (first day of class and twice thereafter, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.).
