Prof. Huhn to present "The Framers' View on Impeachment of the President"
Professor Wilson Huhn will conduct a community program on "The Framers' Views on Impeachment of the President" in the Pepper Pike Learning Center in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
The program is sponsored by Orange Community Education and Recreation, and will be conducted from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on May 14, 2019.
The Constitution protects liberty by creating three separate branches of government and establishing a system of checks and balances among them. As James Madison wrote in the Federalist Papers, "Ambition must be made to counteract ambition." The principal check on the power of the Presidency is impeachment: the power of Congress to investigate, try, and remove the President from office. This program will focus on the views of the Framers regarding impeachment.
