Here at the McAnulty College & Graduate School of Liberal Arts, there are a variety of clubs and groups that students can become a part of in order to grow in their social and academic careers.

Advertising Club

The Advertising Club provides students with the opportunity to put learning into practice. We help other clubs and organizations on campus advertise their events, assisting with poster/flyer design, social media post creation, among other forms of digital advertisement. The club helps local clients put together integrated marketing campaigns, provides networking opportunities with advertising professionals, and holds discussion of major issues in the rapidly evolving advertising and marketing industries.

American Sign Language Club

This organization seeks to provide activities within the community for students who want a deeper understanding of those that use Sign Language and theiur culture. Meetings will also offer an opportunity for students to learn and practice signs in a supportive, relaxed environment.

Duquesne's Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery, also known as the CS Club is a member of the international organization (ACM). Participation is extracurricular and all students are welcome to join.

Duquesne Debating Society

The mission of the Duquesne Debating Society is to promote the practice of debate as a mode of deliberation, dialogue, and interpersonal discovery. They work to enhance opportunities for debate education and participation throughout the Duquesne University community. The Society welcomes students at every level of debate experience.

The mission of The D.U.Quark is to create professional opportunities for Duquesne University students to communicate STEM topics for broader audiences. This student-run publication writes, peer reviews, and publishes research articles, news articles, and creative works related to the sciences, research, and the environment. There are also opportunities for students to be involved with social media promotion, outreach, editing, and design. All majors are invited to join. The D.U.Quark aims to engage all members of the Duquesne community in an interdisciplinary conversation about research locally and globally.

Created to showcase the creative works of students, faculty, and alumni, :Lexicon is Duquesne University's journal of arts and literature. Since 2005, this student-run publication has been home to the poetry, prose, and visual art of our campus community. :Lexicon further celebrates the creative presence on Duquesne's campus through its annual art show and open mic nights throughout the academic year.

Lambda Pi Eta

Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) is the National Communication Association's official honor society at four-year colleges and universities. LPH represents what Aristotle described in The Rhetoric as three ingredients of persuasion: logos (Lambda), meaning logic; pathos (Pi), relating to emotion; and ethos (Eta), defined as character credibility and ethics. Lambda Pi Eta recognizes, fosters, and rewards outstanding scholastic achievement while stimulating interest in the communication discipline.

Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, was founded for the purpose of bringing together students and faculty interested in the study of government and politics. Membership in Pi Sigma Alpha is open to undergraduate and graduate students in political science who have achieved the required level of academic excellence.

Duquesne University's exciting new Pre-Law Center is housed in the School of Law and is offered in cooperation with the multiple undergraduate schools and departments within the University. It supports undergraduates in all disciplines who are exploring cutting-edge subjects that will prepare them for law school, graduate public policy and foreign affairs programs, political careers, and public service opportunities in and out of government.
