Double Major: History and English
For the HISTORY major: student must fulfill standard History major requirements.
For the ENGLISH major: student must fulfill either the Literature or Writing Track requirements listed below.
Literature Track (30 credits)
ENGL 300: Critical Issues in Literary Studies
9 credit hours in survey courses (one American and one British, one of which must be from the early period)
15 credit hours in 400-level literature courses that fulfill the following distribution requirements
· Pre-1700
· 1700-1900
· Post-1900
· Diversity: writers who are neither British nor American, or who are from historically marginalized/minority communities
3 elective credit hours
Writing Track (30 credits)
ENGL 300: Critical Issues in Literary Studies
9 credit hours in survey courses (one American and one British, one of which must be from the early period)
9 credit hours in 300/400-level Writing courses in two genres
3 credit hours in a 400-level Writing course
3 credit hours in a 400-level Literature course
3 elective credit hours
