Graduate Assistantships

A limited number of graduate assistantships are available to full-time graduate students.

Graduate assistant appointments are made after applicants are accepted for admission. Appointments are for one semester.

Graduate assistants work 20 hours per week performing one or more of the following: faculty research assistance, teaching assistance and administrative assistance. They may receive up to nine credits of tuition remission and a stipend for each semester of the assistantship.

Graduate assistants must maintain an overall GPA of 3.5 and should not hold full-time employment elsewhere.

Reappointment in subsequent semesters is based on demonstrated competence and satisfactory academic performance.

Deadline to apply for a graduate assistantship is Jan. 30.

To apply, please indicate in your application and personal statement that you are interested in applying for a graduate assistantship.  If you have questions, email the graduate director, Dr. William Gibbs, at
