Careers in Psychology
Most Psychology majors want employment in a human service occupation. There are job opportunities for bachelor's degree holders as psychiatric assistants, child care and youth services workers, probation workers, and in state and federal civil service positions.
Other areas of employment for Psychology majors are advertising, banking, communications, insurance, manufacturing and marketing, medical services, merchandising, industrial relations, publishing, social services and transportation.
Minors related to the above fields are available in the University. Students interested in a work experience may participate in the Cooperative Education program through the Center for Career Development.
A guide to Careers and Graduate Studies is published by the department for majors. The University's Center for Career Development is also available to assist students.
