Faculty strengths lie in many areas of sociology, politics, public policy, conflict resolution, and peace studies. These include: human rights, ethnic conflict, race and minorities, religion and society, ethics, quantitative and qualitative research methodology, criminal justice, reconciliation and restorative justice, mediation and negotiation, international conflict, policy analysis, policy implementation, demography, urban studies, development, gender studies, political and social theory, area studies, and terrorism and national security.  

Dr. Michael Irwin of Sociology is the Interim Director of the Graduate Center for Social and Public Policy. The Center's faculty is drawn from the Sociology and Political Science Departments and the Center itself.
