Alvin Simpson (M.M. Performance, 2013) has recently been accepted to the Ph.D. program at the Eastman School of Music.
In addition to Eastman, Simpson was accepted to Ohio State University and Indiana University of Bloomington's Jacobs School of Music. His decision to attend Eastman was based on their international reputation and the fact that the teaching assistantships to which he was assigned align directly with his future career aspirations. He will be supervising student teachers as well as co-teaching instrumental methods courses, duties that he hopes to one day be in charge of in a position of his own.
