Dr. Rosemarie Piccioni

Rosemarie Piccioni(M.M. Education 1991, B.S. Music Education 1989) Dr. Rosemarie Piccioni has more than 25 years of experience leading the development of emotionally engaging, motivating, rich media learning environments. 

Her early career was in music education, developing and producing educational programming for The Philadelphia Orchestra. She went on to work at the Walt Disney Company, spearheading a number of new initiatives, including the educational programming for the inaugural launch of Disney Cruise Line's first two ships (Magic and Wonder) and Castaway Cay, as well as the music education program, "Sounds Like Fun." Dr. Piccioni developed innovative online music education programming during her tenure at Carnegie Hall, including "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra," and "The Animated History of Carnegie Hall," both Carnegie Hall Listening Adventures®, as well as interactive concerts between students in Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall and students at locations throughout the world.

Rosemarie's higher education experience includes teaching and leading the creation of innovative programming as the Senior Research Associate for The Center for Art Education Research, Teachers College, Columbia University and the Center for Online Teaching and Learning, Columbia University. She also led the strategy, launch, and operation of the Penn State Video Learning Network and the Penn State EdTech Network. As the director of UCLA Extension and UCLA Global Online's teaching teams, charted the course for both synchronous and asynchronous online learning experiences for 3,000 students learning from more than 2,000 instructors in 50,000 online courses.

Dr. Piccioni also holds a M.Ed. and Ed.D. in instructional technology and media from Teachers College, Columbia University.
