Undergraduate Music Awards
Effective for students beginning in the Fall 2022 semester and beyond:
The Mary Pappert School of Music offers competitive scholarship packages that recognize the academic merit and artistry of each applicant. The award process for prospective undergraduate music majors is unique to the school of music. Each applicant's award package is issued in phases:
Award Phase 1: Academic Award (up to $25,000)
Applicants to the Mary Pappert School of Music must first be Provisionally Accepted to Duquesne University before moving on to the music audition (typically, applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or better to receive provisional acceptance). An official letter of provisional acceptance will be issued to the applicant along with an Academic Award that reflects their academic merit.
Award Phase 2: Audition Award ($1,000)
Applicants that pass their music audition and have been fully accepted to the Mary Pappert School of Music automatically receive the Audition Award. An official letter of full acceptance will be issued to the applicant along with notification of the Audition Award.
Award Phase 3: Enhancement Awards (up to Full Tuition; faculty nomination required)
Fully accepted students that display outstanding talent and musical potential during the audition process have the opportunity to receive additional support from the school of music in the form of an Enhancement Award. These prestigious honors are reserved for the most deserving students and can cover up to 100% of tuition.
