Faculty Spotlight: Mary Lynne Bennett
Faculty member Mary Lynne Bennett has been elected President of the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association (PMTA) for the 2017-2019 term.
The PMTA is a state affiliate of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), an organization for independent music teachers. PMTA and MTNA hold annual festivals and competitions for music students of all ages and instruments. In addition, each also holds annual conferences for professional development for their members.
As president, Bennett will lead a board of members from across the state, serve on all of their committees, and oversee all facets of the organization's activities.
She will be attending a leadership summit of state presidents from across the country from September 8–10 at the MTNA headquarters in Cincinnati, OH, and she will also represent the state at the national conference in March 2018 in Orlando, FL. Following her term as President, she will continue to serve on the board as immediate past-president.
Bennett has also just completed the first stages of examiner training to become a member of the College of Examiners for the Royal Conservatory of Music.
