One important aspect of Community-Engaged Learning in Science is to make students aware of the many different types of communities that exist in he world.

Steeler's boothCommunity is not just where you live, but includes how you live. We often think of community as only the small groups of friends we create, our families, our universities, our cities and towns, but community is also the sense we get of belonging through social interaction.

Community-Engaged Learning in Science seeks to expand students' grasp of this idea to help them better understand how they, not just their skills and knowledge, fit into the global community.
