Fragile X NIH Grant Supports Research of Fragile X

Duquesne Names New Dean of Bayer School

President Charles J. Dougherty has named Dr. Philip Reeder as the new dean of Duquesne's Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences effective Monday, July 1. He will succeed Dr. David Seybert, who, after serving as dean of the Bayer School since 2002, has decided to return to scholarship and teaching full-time. Read more »

Studying Stromatolites in Shark Bay, Australia

Not all of the research conducted by Bayer School faculty happens in campus laboratories. Dr. John Stolz, professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and director of the Center for Environmental Research and Education, traveled this spring to Hamelin Pool Marine Nature Reserve in the Shark Bay World Heritage Site of Western Australia to study stromatolites, reef-like structures that form a living community of microorganisms.
