On-Campus Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
College/university graduates considering a rewarding career as a pharmacist and already holding an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in the United States are invited to apply for admission to the first year of the professional phase of the on-campus program.
Online Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
Eligible college/university graduates considering a rewarding career as a pharmacists and already holding an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in the United States may also apply to the Online Pharm.D. Program, which combines distance learning utilizing educational technology with limited on-campus instruction in Pittsburgh, enabling student pharmacists to earn a Pharm.D. in four years. During the first three years of the program students come to campus four to five times a year to complete the laboratory and professional development components of the curriculum with three-to-four-week introductory experiential learning occurring in the summers. The fourth and final year of the program is comprised of advanced experiential learning in a variety of practice settings.
Current undergraduate students interested in transferring into the professional phase of the on-campus or online Pharm.D. program need the following:
- Competitive GPA (No grades below a "C")
- Prerequisite courses from accredited two-year or four-year U.S. colleges and universities, community college, or its equivalent

Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (M.S./Ph.D. Programs)
In addition to the Pharm.D. program, the School of Pharmacy offers Master's (medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, pharmacy administration) and Ph.D. (medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutics) degrees through the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, one of the most highly regarded graduate schools of pharmaceutical sciences in the nation.
