Dr. Jordan Covvey Elected To AACP SIG Cabinet Administrative Board
Jordan Covvey, Pharm.D., Ph.D. BCPS, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Administration with the School of Pharmacy and Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, has been nationally elected as Chair-elect to the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Special Interest Group (SIG) Cabinet Administrative Board.
This role includes a multi-year term (Chair-elect, Chair and Immediate Past Chair) extending through July 2024 as part of a new leadership structure approved by the AACP House of Delegates (HOD) in July 2020. As stated by AACP, the mission of the SIG Cabinet Administrative Board is to "ensure that the unique planning, learning and networking needs of AACP members are effectively met through SIG programs, projects and leadership development opportunities."
"It is a great joy for me to continue to serve AACP in a new and exciting capacity," Dr. Covvey says. "One of the many strengths of AACP is its capacity to bring together faculty through the diverse topics, focused spaces and unique endeavors pursued by each SIG. I can't wait to contribute to this space."
Dr. Covvey previously served a three-year term as Chair-elect, Chair and Immediate Past Chair of the Public Health SIG from 2016-19. During that time, she spearheaded the creation of "Public Health in Pharmacy Practice: A Casebook," an open education resource (OER) which includes over 30 authors and 21 chapters. The editorial team is currently in process of collecting additional chapters for the second edition, which is aiming for a 2021 release.
