Duquesne University School Of Pharmacy Named A Finalist In The 2016 Enterprise Video Awards By Sonic Foundry
The Duquesne University School of Pharmacy was named as a finalist in the 12th Annual Enterprise Video Awards in the Student Achievement category by Sonic Foundry, Inc., the trusted global leader for video creation and management solutions.
The awards honor excellence in Mediasite integration into business, education, health and government. This year's finalists achieved measurable improvements in information accessibility, cost-savings, efficiency and productivity through Mediasite.
The Duquesne University School of Pharmacy relies on Sonic Foundry's Mediasite technology as an important learning tool for our student pharmacists. We have 10 capture stations that record audio and video from lectures as well as the professors' podium slides. Every minute of every lecture in the Doctor of Pharmacy weekend pathway program is recorded for on-demand viewing. Numerous weekday and graduate school classes are also recorded. In the first three months of 2016 our students logged into our Mediasite server over 7,100 times and watched lecture recordings for over 2,600 hours.
"We have enhanced the learning outcomes of our students through Mediasite technology," said Robert Timmins, the Multimedia Specialist for the Mylan School of Pharmacy. "Our student pharmacists will be better prepared to improve the heath outcomes of their patients and their communities. We are very proud of that. It is an honor to be recognized by Sonic Foundry for what are actually the accomplishments of our students."
"This year's class of Enterprise Video Award nominees is taking enterprise video programs to another level, finding new and cutting-edge applications for Mediasite," said Rob Lipps, executive vice president of Sonic Foundry in a press release. "We continue to be inspired by our customer's creativity and innovation. Congratulations to Duquesne University School of Pharmacy for embracing online video to the fullest to achieve measurable cost savings, efficiencies and productivity with Mediasite."
Winners will be announced at Unleash 2016, the Mediasite User Conference May 2–4, 2016 in Madison, Wisconsin.
