Duquesne University School of Pharmacy Online Pharm.D. Program
The Duquesne University School of Pharmacy Online Pharm.D. Program-one of the first online Pharm.D. programs developed in the country-puts a new career within reach by combining online and limited on-campus instruction.
Online Pharm.D. program student pharmacists enjoy access to the same renowned faculty, pharmacy student organizations and experiential education opportunities as students in the traditional Pharm.D. program and earn the same Pharm.D. degree in four years.
"Today's Pharmacist is a critical member of the healthcare team," Marianne Leister, Senior Academic Advisor for Online Programs at the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy, says. "In the Online Pharm.D. program at Duquesne University you will become part of a community of learners dedicated to a profession of helping people live healthier, better lives. Students in the Online Pharm.D. enjoy the best of both worlds. The majority of the courses are taught online through synchronous and asynchronous state of the art technology. Students also come to campus four times per academic year to complete the laboratory, experiential learning, and professional development components of the curriculum. All courses are taught by fulltime faculty in the School of Pharmacy and all courses and requirements are the same as the on-campus program. If a career in pharmacy is your future, the Online Pharm.D. program can provide you with the opportunity to pursue this goal while continuing to manage family, work, and other life responsibilities."
The Online Pharm.D. program welcomes qualified post-baccalaureate students and transfer students. The first three years of the online Pharm.D. program require several visits to the Duquesne University campus in Pittsburgh (about four per academic year) for exams, labs and clinical experiences. Student pharmacists complete a series of experiential education rotations in a variety of practice settings during the fourth year of the online Pharm.D. program, often receiving job offers before graduation.
