The Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Duquesne works to educate and mentor students who advance the profession of pharmacy and pharmaceutical research to improve the health outcomes of patients and their communities. The school's multidisciplinary approach to interactive teaching and research is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in:

allied health sciences
social/behavioral sciences

Degree programs are offered in medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacology and pharmacy administration.

For its rankings, Graduate Programs drew from data gathered between September 2012 and September 2013, encompassing reviews posted by more than 40,000 students participating in more than 1,300 graduate programs across the nation. Fifteen ranking categories were assigned, covering topics such as academic competitiveness, career support and financial aid, among others. The rankings were determined by calculating the average score for each program based on the ranking categories.
