Health Screenings With YMCA & Duquesne University School Of Pharmacy At Homewood-Brushton YMCA
The Duquesne University School of Pharmacy will offer FREE blood pressure, glucose, carbon monoxide and cholesterol screenings every other month at the Homewood-Brushton YMCA every other month starting Saturday, January 25 at 2 p.m. These events will be open to the public and are expected to be a safe place for anyone looking for health and wellness information.
Once screened the participant will be referred to a program, doctor or other health resource that fits that person's needs. For example the YMCA will offer participants entry into the biabetes prevention, smoking cessation or blood pressure self-monitoring programs while pharmacy students and faculty preceptors will help them connect with a local primary care physician or other health care providers and resources.
Founded in 1878, Duquesne is consistently ranked among the nation's top Catholic universities for its award-winning faculty and horizon-expanding education. A campus of nearly 9,500 graduate and undergraduate students, Duquesne prepares students by having them work alongside faculty to discover and reach their goals. The University's academic programs, community service, and commitment to equity and opportunity in the Pittsburgh region have earned national acclaim.
