Preview Day 2016 Convinces 20 Prospective Students To Attend Duquesne University
Prospective students who have been accepted to the Mylan School of Pharmacy attended Preview Day on Sunday, February 21, 2016. During the event, parents and prospective students were separated from one another to participate in information panels and participated in faculty-guided tours of school facilities in both Bayer and Mellon Halls. Visitors heard from Dean J. Douglas Bricker on what makes the profession of pharmacy a great career choice and what makes Duquesne unique among other pharmacy programs. There were a number of faculty who served as tour guides, and 160 current student pharmacists who served as campus tour guides, showing families around various points of campus, as well as having lunch with them and relating to them their experiences at Duquesne.
According to Ms. Alana Harteis, Admissions Counselor for the Mylan School of Pharmacy, "Preview Day is one of those events that makes me proud to be part of Pharmacy at Duquesne! The day created overall feelings of excitement, pride, and a sense of community - thanks to our volunteers. Faculty, staff and students made families feel welcomed as they showcased our academics and community involvement. Families enjoyed their time on Campus and truly experienced what makes Duquesne special."
At this year's event, 20 students committed to attending Duquesne in the Fall by making their initial deposits. Accepted students will have additional opportunities to commit to Duquesne University at smaller events being offered in March and April-before the May 1 deadline
