2021 Health & Wellness Fair In Market Square

To kick off American Pharmacists Month, the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy hosts the annual Health and Wellness Fair in Market Square on the first Wednesday in October.

Nearly 100 faculty and student pharmacists representing 18 pharmacy student organizations offer distinct outreach services and activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., including:

  • Flu and pneumonia shots
  • Bblood pressure screenings
  • Cardiac and diabetic risk assessments
  • Smoking cessation information
  • Movin' and Groovin' in the Square
  • Promotional giveaways and more!

"Improving health outcomes of patients and their communities is part of the mission of the School of Pharmacy," Assistant Dean for Student Services Janet Astle, B.S. Pharmacy, Ed.D., says. "The Health and Wellness Fair helps us to fulfill this mission by meeting patients where they are. As a result of this direct engagement, our faculty and student pharmacists can work hand-in-hand with the community to create a healthier Pittsburgh."
