Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast 2017The Allegheny County Bar Association's Homer S. Brown Division will host its 20th Annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast and Program on Monday, Jan. 21st at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 2001 Wylie Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. The breakfast and program commemorates the life of Dr. King and his contributions that led to changes in law and social justice.

The buffet breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. and will be followed by a brief program at 8:30 a.m. HSBD will honor Dr. Larry E. Davis, Director of the Center on Race and Social Problems at the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work as the recipient of its 2019 Drum Major for Justice Award. The name of the award originates from one of Dr. King's final sermons about a eulogy that might be given in the event of his death. Additionally, the ACBA will honor, the Pittsburgh Courier and New Pittsburgh Courier newspapers will be recognized with a special Legacy Award by the HSBD for providing over a century of service.

Please note, the university is coordinating free travel to and from the event, which is open to the public.
