Biography

Dr. Seadler is a Professor Emeritus at the School of Science and Engineering. Prior to his retirement from Duquesne University, he was the Associate Provost for Research and Technology. In addition, Dr. Seadler held the Edward V. Fritzky Chair in Biotechnology Leadership and was Director for the Center for Biotechnology where he established the MS in Biotechnology. Dr. Seadler an instructor in the program.

Dr. Seadler has had an extensive career spanning both academic and industrial biomedicine as well as entrepreneurship. Prior experiences include executive management positions at Ciba-Corning, Fisher Scientific, and Amersham Life Science. In addition, Dr. Seadler was the VP of Operations at Biological Detection Systems Inc. and at Visible Genetics He was the Chief Operating Officer at Cellomics Inc. and served as CEO of Crystalplex immediately before joining Duquesne University. He is a co-inventor on three patents related to the DNA diagnosis of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).

Dr. Seadler holds a Bachelor of Arts from Case Western Reserve University and a Ph.D. in Biology from Case Western Reserve University. His post-doctoral experience includes research studies at McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
