Biography

Cherith Simmer is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean at Duquesne University School of Nursing. With more than 40 years of experience, Ms. Simmer holds an M.S. in Nursing Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan and a B.S.N. from Michigan State University.

Ms. Simmer joined the School of Nursing in 1994 as an undergraduate Clinical Instructor and continued to teach in the undergraduate program until 2014. She assumed an administrative role in 1997 as Assistant Dean for Recruitment. She has clinical experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing Administration at Allegheny General Hospital; outpatient Internal Medicine Manager at Michigan State University Clinical Center; and as a staff nurse in general surgical nursing, gastroenterology, orthopedics, trauma, home care, and long term care.  She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the National League for Nursing, the AACN, and is the Faculty Advisor for the Duquesne Chapter of Nurses Christian Fellowship.
