Biography

Ms. Julia Glencer holds a J.D. (magna cum laude) from the Dickinson School of Law (1997) and a B.A. (summa cum laude) in English from Carlow College (1993). She began teaching first-year legal research & writing at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University in 2006; she also teaches upper-level legal writing courses and Administrative Law. She has significant experience with the judiciary, having served as a law clerk to the late Hon. Joseph F. Weis, Jr., and the Hon. D. Michael Fisher, both on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and to a judge on the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.

Additionally, she designed and taught a seminar for students participating in judicial externships on behalf of the Law School Clinic. Ms. Glencer has presented numerous continuing legal education programs on law and literature and topics related to ethics. Ms. Glencer lives with her lawyer husband and daughter in the North Hills of Pittsburgh; she is an avid reader and plays the flute in an adult community band.
