Commuter Student

COMMUTER STUDENTS diagnosed with COVID-19 will receive detailed and specific guidance for isolation. Health Services will work with the commuter student to formulate an isolation plan based on their individual commuter living arrangements.

Health Services will apply a designated flag to the student's account in Starfish which will communicate to professors, instructors, and academic advisor that the student is in need of academic continuation through online courses for up to 10 days.

CLEARANCE/ ENDING ISOLATION INSTRUCTIONS:


**Final release to return to on-campus activity may ONLY be provided by a member of the Duquesne University Health Services Medical Staff. **


Your PROVISIONAL RELEASE DATE is contingent on meeting ALL of the following criteria as determined by a healthcare provider.

NO fever ( Temperature greater than or equal to 100.4F) for at least 24 hours without the aid of fever reducing medicines, AND improvement of respiratory systems, AND at least 5 days that have elapsed since the syptoms began or after the first positive test if no symptoms have developed


You MUST call Health Services to obtain a final release on the provisional date. Please call 412-396-1650.
A final clearence from COVID-19 Isolation letter will be provided to all students that may be presented to relevant acadenic departments, clinical training sites and or employers.

 

* ATTENTION *

Health Services will no longer conduct contract tracing. However, we stress that any person with an positive status notify any lose contacts, particularly those who are immunocompromised or elderly.

If you were exposed to covid-19 or believe that you may have been in contact with a positive person, please monitor for symptoms.

Students may continue to call Health Services for sympotmatic testing, or can seek testing off campus.
