We're Here to Support You

We proactively and compassionately guide students through the difficult and exciting times of being a college student. In collaboration with various campus departments, we'll ensure that you have the best and safest experience possible. You'll have plenty of opportunities to enjoy student life through programs and events throughout the weeks, and we work closely with public safety personnel to keep you safe. We're always here when you need us - Residence Life staff are on call outside of business hours.

Campus Resources

Campus Police

Campus Police work very closely with the Office of Residence Life. One of the many things that they help with is transporting students to and from the hospital if they are sick, for example.

Health Services

The primary healthcare provider for students on campus. Located on the 2nd floor of the Student Union.

Counseling Services

Located in Fisher Hall, Counseling Services offers free psychotherapy to all currently enrolled students.

Title IX

Title IX helps ensure that all students have a good environment for personal and academic growth that is free of sex discrimination.

The Center for Excellence in Diversity and Student Inclusion

The center helps by providing support services and opportunities for learning, coordinates campus-wide events, and raises awareness about critical issues.

DU Cares

As a part of the Office of Residence Life, DU Cares educates students on the topic of alcohol and drugs.

Tips for Success

  • Get involved! The Duquesne experience is defined as what goes on in and outside of the classroom.
  • Keep an open mind! The Duquesne community is diverse, with students from all over the country and world.
  • Students should try to solve problems on their own. This is a time that students can learn problem solving skills in a safe environment.
  • Seek help. The Residence Life staff in the building are available to guide students to the proper resources if necessary.
