Executive Board

The Executive Board consists of the President, the Executive Vice President, Director of Communications, Director of Finance, and Director of Programming. The RHA Executive Board is the governing body of RHA. As the Executive Board, some of their primary responsibilities are to:

  • To represent the interests of the residents to externa; emtities, the Univerity administration, and the Office of Residence Life;
  • Raise morale in building programs to maintain the interest and dedication of all RHA and Hall Council members;
  • Address issues of relevance to the entire residence hall community as well as offer assistance to any individual Hall Council event or project;
  • Establish and oversee committeess that are deemed necessary and appropriate to achieve the goals and objectives of the Residence Hall Association;
  • Plan and coordinate activities and events of the RHA;
  • Uphold all components of the Duquesne University Mission Statement.

Shane Conklin

Hello, my name is Shane Conklin and I am the RHA President for 2020/21. I am a junior biology major with minors in public health, math, biochemistry, and psychology. This is my second year on the Executive Board, my freshman year I was President of Assumption Hall Council. In addition to RHA I am also a member of ecology club, DUHPS, the biology professional fraternity, and a resident assistant (RA) in Assumption. I look forward to working with my fellow Exec. My name is Luke Schrum and I'm a PY1 (junior) pharmacy student here at Duquesne.
I'm currently the vice president of finance for the RHA Executive Board and a resident assistant in Duquesne Towers. My main role as vice president of finance is to approve purchases and ensure money is disbursed to RHA councils for programs. In the past I served as the executive vice president of the Assumption Hall RHA Council. Despite all the challenges we're going to face, I'm excited to work with everyone throughout this year!

Rachel Means

Rachel Means, Vice-President Programming

Rachel Means, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, moved to Mount Wolf, PA in 2007. She is a graduate of the Class of 2019 of Northeastern High School, where she served as their Senior Class President. Rachel currently serves as the Recording Secretary of the Varick's International Christian Youth Council of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. In addition, she serves on the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal District's Media Ministry. She is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At Duquesne, she serves as the Vice President of Programming for their Residence Hall Association and as a Resident Assistant this upcoming year. Rachel aspires to be a civil rights attorney and become the first African American female Supreme Court Justice of the United States. Rachel's favorite scripture is Matthew 6: 33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Reecie Boyles

Hi! My name is Reecie Boyles, and I am the Vice President of Communications. I am a third-year pharmacy student currently living in Vickroy Hall. My job is to take meeting minutes and send out emails to all the hall councils. I am also involved with Gamma Sigma Sigma, Lambda Kappa Sigma, and am the Relay for Life Director for ACS on Campus. My favorite part of RHA is being able to connect to other students in all of the halls.

Nick DuBos is in his 21st year as a Duquesne University Administrator and 11th year as the RHA Advisor. He holds a Masters of Education from Ohio University, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Youngstown State University. If you couldn't tell, Nick is from Youngstown, Ohio. On top of serving as the RHA Advisor, Nick also serves as the Resident Director of Brottier Hall and the Coordinator of Programming for the Office of Residence Life.

Fun Fact: Nick is a 4-season type of person! He really loves the months of September through December! One thing Nick likes to say about himself is that he is hardly ever bored. He always has something to do and enjoys it!
