On October 24, 1902, six women came together to form the Delta Zeta Sorority at Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. From then on, Delta Zeta has been enriching women's lives all around our nation. It is the third largest sorority in the nation at this time as well. The Kappa Xi chapter here at Duquesne was colonized on May 17, 1969.
The Delta Zeta sorority supports speech and hearing education and awareness. Delta Zeta's national philanthropy is The Starkey Hearing Foundation and the Kappa Xi chapter also supports the Speech and Hearing Clinic on campus.
Each year, the Kappa Xi chapter hosts two philanthropy events: Hike for Hearing, a 5K run/walk benefitting The Starkey Hearing Foundation, and Big Man on Campus, a male beauty pageant that benefits the on-campus speech and hearing clinic.
