As the governing body on campus, SGA assists students and student organizations in various ways.
To begin a new student organization, students meet with staff members in the Center for Student Involvement. New student organization constitutions are reviewed and approved by the Senate. Groups that become officially recognized can reserve spaces for meetings and tabling events, gain access to the SORC, and apply for funding for conferences and service events, among other things.
Every year, the SGA sponsors a scholarship for which all students may apply. Students are notified of application opportunities at the beginning of each academic year. For questions regarding the SGA Scholarship, please contact us at email@example.com or reach out to our VP of Academic Affairs.
Each year, the SGA creates a planner and passes out free copies to between 1,000 and 2,000 students at the beginning of each academic year. The planner contains departmental information and dates of campus-wide events. For questions regarding the Student Planner, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or reach out to our VP of Communications.
Student Organization Resource Center (SORC)
Access to the SORC is available through a card-swipe system of the DU ID card. Each student organization is allowed SORC access for two members of the organization (one is required to be the President). To request access to the SORC, fill out the SORC Access Request Form on SGA's CampusLink page.
Conference Appropriations & Service Grants
Conference Appropriations allows student organizations to apply for funding to cover costs associated with sending organizaiton members to conferences. Conference Appropriations occurs once per semester.
Student organizations may also apply for service grants, which cover costs associated with off-campus service events that an organization may facilitate.
Questions regarding Conference Appropriations or Service Grants? Please contact us at email@example.com or reach out to our VP of Finance.
SGA Loop Bus
SGA sponsors three bus routes on Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the academic year. The Loop Buses are free for all students with a DU ID. For questions regarding the Loop Bus please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the Loop Bus page for more information.
Student Book Loan Program
The Student Book Loan Program provides free access to textbooks for students. Each year, SGA purchases textbooks that are required for University Core courses. All textbooks are located in Gumberg Library. Questions or suggestions for the Book Loan Program? Contact us at email@example.com or reach out to our VP of Academic Affairs.
