The best way to offer your opportunities to our students is to post on Handshake. Handshake is a powerful, modern platform for college recruiting and offers many great features for your team:

  • Easily post jobs and internships
  • View and communicate with applicants
  • Register for career fairs
  • Request an interview schedule
  • Request an event/information session

New users must first register with Handshake to create an account within the Duquesne University employer database. Click "sign up for an account", then "employer" and fill out your personal information. Specify the types of students you wish to recruit (majors) and read through the "employer guidelines". Confirm your email via the email sent from Handshake. Find and join your company and connect to schools.

Once you are an approved user, you will be able to post jobs and internships. You will be able to post recruiting events, register for job fairs, as well as request dates for On-Campus Recruiting.

Post a job or internship opportunity
  • Log in to Handshake
  • Click on the “Post a Job” button
  • Complete the information on each screen, click “Create”

All jobs and internships are marked as “pending” until reviewed and approved by the Center for Career Development.  The approval process typically occurs within 2-3 days. If we have any questions, you will receive a phone call or email from us.

Employers seeking to recruit Duquesne University students and graduates are expected to comply with the guidelines established by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, in addition to the Recruiting Policies specific to Duquesne University. If you are a third party recruiter, please refer to our Third Party Recruiter Policy.

If the internship is to be on-site, the organization agrees to observe COVID-19 guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), to include Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), along with any federal, state or local restrictions.
