Meet the Staff
Nicole Feldhues joined Duquesne University as Director of Center for Career Development in July of 2008. Serving in this role, Nicole oversees the coordination of career development, programs, job search events, and employer relations for the students, faculty, and alumni of Duquesne University. She has more than 22 years of experience working in career services and student development in a higher education setting. She spent many years at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana where she held various positions in the Career Center, including Assistant Director and Business Fellows Project Manager. Prior to Ball State, Nicole served as an Educational Leadership Consultant for Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity.
Ms. Feldhues is an experienced speaker on topics related to career development, job-search planning, and workplace professionalism and makes educational presentations to both university classes and professional organizations.
She currently serves on the Executive Board of the Western Pennsylvania Career Services Association and PERC. She is a member of NACE - the National Association of College and Employers and PENNACE - the Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Employers.
Nicole earned a Master of Science in Student Affairs Administration from Ball State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education from Washington University in St. Louis. A native of Pittsburgh, Nicole has enjoyed living and working in her hometown again. She resides in Moon Township with her husband, Bill, and their three children, Hannah, Sophie, and Will.

Associate Director, Alumni Career Networks
Martin joined Duquesne University in February of 2019. He serves as a liaison between the Career Development Center and the Office of Alumni Engagement. In his role he seeks to expand the number of alumni assisting students with job and internship placements, mentoring, networking and advising. He attends regional and national events, networks with Duquesne alumni and friends of the University and works to develop key priorities and strategic partnerships with University directors and School deans.
Martin has previously served in career development and leadership roles at New York University, Carnegie Mellon, Brandeis University and Thiel College. He has directed international work-abroad programs, and served as an editor, translator, teacher and nonprofit administrator.
Martin holds a BA in English Literature and German Studies from SUNY Albany and an MPhil equivalent (ABD) in German Language & Literature from NYU. His passions include peace and conflict studies, community engagement and attacking Pittsburgh's daunting verticals on his bike. He lives with his wife and two sons in Oakmont, PA.

Coordinator for Recruiting, Data and Systems
Kim has been a member of the Center for Career Development team at Duquesne University for over 25 years. She manages the On Campus Interview Program and develops and maintains relationships with our employer partners. Kim also oversees and administers the Post Graduate Outcomes Survey.

Assistant Director, Employer Relations, Experiential Learning
Lauren is a Pittsburgh native and joined Duquesne University in January 2022. She has served in a higher education career development capacity at various institutions in Pennsylvania since 2013. Lauren earned a Master of Arts in Student Affairs in Higher Education from IUP and a Bachelor of Science in Spanish Education from Penn State. She is an active member of the Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Employers (PennACE) and has also participated in programs with NACE, NASPA, and ACPA.
Lauren assists employers and other organizations who are interested in recruiting Duquesne students and alumni for jobs, internships, and experiential learning opportunities. She also serves as the internship coordinator for Duquesne's for-credit internship program and oversees the intern positions within the Center for Career Development.

Assistant Director/ Carrer Consultant for Business
Julie serves as the liaison to the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business, providing resources and coordinating career-related programs, courses and events for undergraduate and graduate students. She counsels students relevant to their selection of a career and all aspects of the job-search process. In addition, she establishes and maintains effective working relationships with potential and current employers and supports recruiting activities of the department.
Julie joined the Center for Career Development in August of 2017. She came to Duquesne after spending 12 years with Marriott International. Julie has also worked for The Disney Store and in Pharmaceutical Sales for Eli Lilly and Company.
Julie earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Health Policy and Administration from Penn State University. She is a member of NACE - the National Association of College and Employers and has completed the NACE 30-hour Career Coaching Institute.

Assistant Director/ Career Consultant for Liberal Arts, Music, and Education
Bethany Gary joined the team at the Center for Career Development in August of 2022, and serves as the Assistant Director/Career Consultant for Liberal Arts, Education & Music. In this role, Bethany provides coaching and guidance to undergraduate and graduate students for all aspects of career exploration and preparation. Additionally, she provides resources to students and helps to facilitate career-related programs and events.
Bethany has over 13 years working in various functional areas within higher education including student activities, orientation, residence life and career development. Throughout this time, she has worked at the small, private institutions of Marian University in Indianapolis, IN and Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA and the large, public institutions of Ball State University in Muncie, IN and Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL.
Bethany earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from John Carroll University in University Heights, OH and a Master of Science in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.
Bethany is very excited to be back in her home state of Pennsylvania and to be a part of the DU community. When she isn't working with students, Bethany enjoys singing, baking, crafting and playing board games with her husband at their home in Manor, PA.

Assistant Director/ Career Consultant for Sciences and Health Care
Lauren joined the Center for Career Development in August of 2022. She serves as the liaison to the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, Rangos School of Health Sciences, School of Nursing, and School of Pharmacy. In her role, Lauren provides students with resources, guidance, and coaching relevant to their career journey and all aspects of the job search process. Additionally, Lauren coordinates career-related programs and events.
Lauren has previously worked in roles supporting students and alumni at Chatham University and the Pennsylvania State University - New Kensington. Lauren has also worked for the PNC Bank Corporate Headquarters here in Pittsburgh.
Lauren earned a Master of Arts in Student Affairs in Higher Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

Lynn specializes in customer service and provides administrative support for the department by managing the front office and supervising the Career Assistants. Lynn coordinates reception, budgeting, purchasing, scheduling, and job approvals. Lynn is the Career Closet Coordinator. She enjoys engaging and interacting with the students while helping them navigate through the next steps toward their future while looking their best!
