Designed with working health care professionals in mind, the program offers three concentrations: health informatics and data analytics, population health or health care compliance and risk management.
The health care compliance and risk management option, in particular, is distinctive to Duquesne. University Provost Dr. David Dausey said, "To the best of our knowledge, no other online MHA programs among the top-ranked universities in the U.S. offers a concentration in health care compliance and risk management."
"With health care becoming more virtual and more data-driven, health care professionals have to manage an enormous number of variables while ensuring high-quality individual care," added Dr. Fevzi Akinci, dean of the Rangos School. "We designed our program to serve those professionals who understand the new frontiers ahead and want the experience and knowledge to lead in that arena."
The health administration master's program will provide students the ability to gain the knowledge necessary to implement IT-based solutions that improve health care delivery, design programs that mitigate risk or prevent the spread of disease by administering programs that teach healthy lifestyle habits. The program helps students understand such particulars with a mind toward balancing their organizations' financial sustainability.
The John G. Rangos Sr. School of Health Sciences is designed to promote and model

and risk management concentration.
