Moscow on the Bluff Concert V: Nissman Plays Prokofieff
This concert will feature pianist Barbara Nissman playing the works of Russian composer
Sergei Prokofieff. Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra principal viola Randolph Kelly, and
Duquesne Piano Professor and Chair David Allen Wehr will present two cornerstone sonatas
of the viola repertoire by Mikhail Glinka (known as the Father of Russian Music) and
Dmitri Shostakovich. During the pre-concert discussion, Wehr will visit with Nissman
and discuss her current Prokofieff recording project.
