NASA's chief historian will share the story of the race to the moon, with insights from declassified United States and Soviet archival materials, in an upcoming presentation at Duquesne University.

NASA Chief Historian Dr. Bill Barry will present The Race to the Moon: New Perspectives for the 50th Anniversary on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Charles J. Dougherty Ballroom.

Barry will address and challenge popular narratives regarding the moon landing. Prepare to be surprised, as the race was closer than previously thought.

Since the late 1960s, Duquesne's Department of History has hosted the History Forum, attracting national and international scholars to address topics of current as well as historical and academic interest.
