Opera superstar Marianne Cornetti will return to her alma mater for a special performance to benefit the City Music Center of Duquesne University.

Marianne Cornetti and Friends: A United Way Concert for City Music Center, will be held Sunday, March 27, at 4 p.m. in the PNC Recital Hall at the Mary Pappert School of Music. All proceeds will go to the City Music Center.

Cornetti will be joined by pianist David Allen Wehr, dean of music and the Jack W. Geltz Distinguished Piano Chair, alongside students from the Mary Pappert School of Music and the City Music Center. Together, they will perform selections form opera and musical theater.

Tickets, which can be purchased at www.duq.edu/Cornetti2022, are $40 for either in-person attendance at the concert or for the livestream of the performance. Donations also can be made at the time of ticket purchase. A link for the livestream will be emailed to attendees closer to the concert date.

The City Music Center of Duquesne University, founded in 1989, is Pittsburgh's premier provider of musical instruction for students of all ages. It offers a comprehensive program of individual instrumental instruction combined with a sequenced, age-appropriate musicianship curriculum, ensemble and recital opportunities, as well as lessons and educational programs for university-level students and adults of all ages and skill levels.
