Beholding Paradise: Merton's Encounter with Photography and Zen
The Gumberg Library will display the photography of renowned Trappist monk Thomas
Merton. Dr. Paul Pearson, director of the Merton Center at Bellarmine University,
will present about the Merton Photograph exhibition. The exhibit will be on display
from Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Nov. 8 in the Gumberg Library.

18th Annual Katie Westbrook 5K and Dog Walk
This annual race and dog walk is held in honor of Katie Westbrook, whose dream at
age 13 was to become a lawyer. Westbrook, who suffered from a rare bone cancer, passed
away at 15, just hours before she was to receive an honorary degree from the School
of Law. Proceeds from the race benefit the Student Bar Association Centennial Endowed
Scholarship Fund. Hosted by the Duquesne University School of Law.
