John Holiday, a renowned countertenor and 2020 fifth-place finalist/John Legend team member on The Voice, will share his expertise with Mary Pappert School of Music voice students at Duquesne University during a master class that is free and open to the public.

Holiday will coach Duquesne students on style and technique as they share various works from the Baroque to jazz on Friday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in PNC Recital Hall on campus. A unique opportunity to gain insight into Holiday's highly successful career, the singer will discuss his experiences in both the classical world of opera and the recording industry.  

The vocalist will be in Pittsburgh in October to make his debut as the lead role in Broschi's Idaspe at Pittsburgh's Quantum Theatre. Holiday has performed at iconic venues across the globe including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, London's Barbican Center and the Philharmonie de Paris.  

Next May, Holiday will join the Pittsburgh Opera to star as John Blue in their production of We Shall Not Be Moved.
