The Duquesne University community is invited to help influence the future of medicine by participating in an All of Us Research Program event Friday, March 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Power Center Ballroom. All participants will receive a $25 gift card after completing their visit.

The All of Us Research Program is a national effort that aims to build the world's largest, most diverse database of health information that researchers can use to study health and illness. The program will help researchers understand how different genetic, lifestyle and environmental factors affect health and disease, with the goal of improving the health of future generations.

Faculty and staff participants may be able to:

  • learn more about their health,
  • help improve the health of the community and others in the future, and
  • assist researchers to find the best ways for people to stay healthy.

Interested participants are encouraged to schedule an appointment by calling 412.343.2737 or by enrolling online on the All of Us Research Program website. Users can create an account, agree to share electronic health records, review the "consent to get DNA results" form, and answer health surveys. Participants who make an appointment will have measurements taken (height, weight, blood pressure, etc.) and provide blood and urine samples.

Participants also can download a free app from Google Play or the iOS App Store by searching for All of Us Research Program. Click the app with the navy-blue background and the white All of Us text (not the app with the white background and blue text). Users can complete surveys within the app.
