The ninth annual Run for Ryan, a campus-wide 5K supporting educational needs of student
veterans, will gather the campus and greater Pittsburgh community to pay tribute to
Marine Sgt. Ryan Lane.
Lane was killed in action in Afghanistan in July 2009 on his second tour of duty.
Army 1st Lt. Joseph Vitti and Marine 1st Lt. Chris Cavanaugh, both former Duquesne
students, launched the Run for Ryan after hearing of Lane's sacrifice, to ensure that
he would be remembered.
When: Saturday, April 21, at 9:30 a.m.
Where: Duquesne Union, Duquesne University, 600 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh.
