Duquesne Hosts Outdoor Summertime Jazz Concert on the Bluff
Duquesne University will host its third annual outdoor Summertime Jazz Concert, featuring performances by nationally renowned guitarists Henry Johnson, Jimmy Bruno, Wolf Marshall, Joe Negri and the Duquesne faculty jazz guitar ensemble Catch 22.
Johnson will receive a Duquesne University Lifetime Achievement Award at the concert. He has played with vocalist Donny Hathaway, pianist Ramsey Lewis and in the group of the late jazz legend Joe Williams. Johnson’s first album, You’re The One, received a Grammy nomination.
Seating is limited. Attendees may bring blankets or chairs for lawn seating. Open to the public, admission is $15. Guests must register by July 22 by calling 412.396.6209 or visiting www.alumni.duq.edu.
